Happy Monday, ya'll!
Here's the deal, I think I despise Sundays more than Mondays because knowing that the next day is Monday...is almost just as bad as the Monday itself! Anyone else? Okay, little rant over.
Let's get real for a second. I was hesitant to post these pictures because they aren't professional, I don't look glamorous, and my tricep muscles aren't photoshopped to make me look more toned. But they're real photos, and that's why I decided to bite the bullet and post them on the blog! Working out can be extremely difficult, and sometimes the last thing any of us want to do. After I had my little boy, William, I actually started to love the gym because it was the only "ME" time I could fit in my day.
I've always done really high intensity workouts-insanity, P90X, cycle classes, running 5 miles a day, stair stepper for hours, blah blah blah. My good friend introduced me to Kayla Itsines Bakini Body Guide (BBG). As soon as I started doing the workouts I was HOOKED! I loved it from the very first workout! It's everything I feel like need I to get a good sweat sesh in.
Here's what my workouts and week consist of!
MONDAY: High Fitness classes (woot woot, my favorite fitness class of all time!)
TUESDAY: 20 min treadmill warm up ( I know that long of a warm up isn't necessary, but I really enjoy running), BBG Legs.
WEDNESDAY: 20 min treadmill. BBG Arms. It's actually suggested you DON'T do BBG two days in a row, but because of my schedule this is what has to be done! You gotta do what ya gotta do!
THURSDAY: High fitness class
FRIDAY: 10-20 min treadmill, BBG Abs.
SATURDAY: High fitness class
BBG consists of 2 rounds of 4 exercises! Set the timer for 7 minutes and do round one. Repeat for the next set of 4 exercises. And then do ALL of that... ALL over again! So in total you're working BBG 28 minutes (not including your 2 minute breaks in-between your 7 minute intervals).
When I started I could barely use 10 pound weights-like that was pushing it, and I thought at times I may or may not need an ambulance to come pick my sorry butt off the floor! HA! ;) Now that I'm on my second round I'm up to 15 pounds and able to do the exercises so much faster!
One thing I've noticed about BBG it's incredibly strengthening. I've never felt so toned and strong. Adding my high fitness classes into this mix gives me the cardio push I crave, along with stamina!
Everyone gets to figure out what they love to do to feel healthy and happy when it comes to working out! That's the fun of it all. When I miss days at the gym I feel sluggish, yuck, and bloated. That tells me that my body needs to move to feel energized and healthy. So go figure out what your body loves, and if it happens to be BBG and High Fitness....well, looks like we'll be good friends. :D
Enjoy your Monday and go sweat all that weekend Nutella off!
