MMMMMM!! That's all I can say right now! Peppermint, Lavender, and Frankincense infused deep hair conditioner for the WIN.
This morning I was checking out doterrablog.com (you ALL should go visit this awesome blog, because there are so many incredible DIYs and essential oil spot lights). I came across this DIY: Deep Hair Conditioner recipe and thought I'd give it a go. My sweet eight year old niece is here for a couple days...so it gives Wild Bill a nice distraction for a couple hours a day while I get some work done! Although...I wouldn't consider making hair care products for myself work. HA!
The recipe is SSSOO simple. Here it is! (Again, this recipe is from doterrablog.com. I wish I could steal the credit of this brilliance-but I can't.)
- 3 Tablespoons coconut oil
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 8 drops essential oil
The essential oils I used are obviously Lavender, Peppermint, and Frankincense. I used more than what was recommended because...you can never have too many oils! Especially when we're talking about damaged hair!
I ended up using 4 drops peppermint, 4 drops lavender, and 3 drops Frankincense.
How do you go about making this goddess smelling conditioner you may ask?
Scoop 3 Tablespoons coconut oil into small mixing bowl.
Next, microwave for 8 seconds-just to get the coconut oil a TINY bit soft.
Then, add the olive oil. Mix together the two ingredients until it's well combined.
And last, but definitely not least. In fact, the most important of all! Go crazy with those essential oils! And place in a container you can store. I always like to choose glass because there aren't any petrochemicals leaching into my products.
Well my friends, go make yourself some deep conditioner with some essential oil. I'm really trying to get rid of all the chemicals in my house. This is a perfect addition to that!
